About Clare Mckinney

Feeding-dreams-clare-mckinney.JPGI became involved with Feeding Dreams after a chance encounter with Arlene Gormely in July 2013. After hearing Arlene speak so passionately about the Cambodian people I knew I had to get involved. Arlene is a co founder of Feeding Dreams, a community based charity based in the slums of Siem Reap and has given up her life to help others.

Arlene's heart felt words inspired me to volunteer on the spot! I joined the Feeding Dreams team for the first time in January 2014 for 5 weeks where I took up the post of teachers assistant to children aged 5-9, helping them with their English. It was fair to say after this first trip I knew I would be back and wanted to help as much as possible.

Feeding-dreams-clare-mckinney3.JPGI returned from my trip and took up fundraising with gusto throughout 2014! A big thank you to everyone that got involved and donated.

In January 2015 I returned to Siem Reap for 4 weeks this time teaching half the day and helping with the community projects in the afternoon. The community work was tough but extremely rewarding as I saw where part of our fundraising money had been used.

I have returned with the same if not more enthusiasm for the charity and my hope for 2015 is to exceed the amount we raised in 2014!

So bring on the fundraising shenanigans, if you would like to get involved or know someone who would, get in touch!
